Congratulations on being invited to participate in the Rookie Me / Tasmania Devils Athlete Performance Profiling event.
This Athlete Performance Profiling event is designed to capture key data on talent in the region, both boys and girls across a range of age levels. This initiative will support players in understanding their physical capabilities and growth areas, as an athlete — with the opportunity to enhance their development. The event will also build a foundation for our profiling of talent in the region, in an unbiased and regulated environment.
This is an official athletic profiling event, open to both boys and girls (born from 2008 to 2014) in the region. The event invites all footballers in this age group to participate, irrespective of ability and football accolades.

What You'll Experience at the Athlete Performance Profiling Event
AFL Agility
An assessment of a player's ability to change direction at high speeds. Agility is a powerful weapon when players are in tight situations or dodging an opponent.
20m Sprint
An assessment of a player's ability to accelerate and reach top speed over a distance of 20m. Measuring the 5m, 10m and 20m splits, we gather insights on how well a player can explode and burst out of a pack.
Running Vertical Jump
An assessment of a player's ability to gain momentum and jump off one foot and reach the highest point. By measuring the running jumps, this test provides insight into how much impact a player can have in aerial contests.
Standing Vertical Jump
Assessing each player's ability to jump straight up from a standing position to the highest point (counter movement jumps). Generating power from a stationary position can indicate a player's lower body strength, highly suitable for AFL/AFLW football.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery
An assessment of each player's ability to recover from repeated bouts of running. A player’s ability to recover is important in football as you are able to perform consistency across the game.

Is this a prerequisite or qualification for ongoing participation in the Tasmania Devils talent region trials or training program?
Participation in this event should not be regarded as a prerequisite or qualification for ongoing participation in the Tasmania Devils talent region trials or training programs. Rookie Me will share the performance data from this event with the Tasmania Devils program staff who will work closely with all community clubs throughout the upcoming season to monitor the form and development of all players. Opportunities to be involved in the Tasmania Devils program, whether you elect to participate in this event or not, will be ongoing through the upcoming season.

How much is the event?
The Rookie Me / Tasmania Devils Athlete Performance Profiling event is a once-off payment of $44.99 incl. GST.

When do event registrations close?
Event registrations close 22 September, 2025 at 5pm.

When and how will I find out my allocated time slot?
Allocated time slots will be sent to athletes by 5pm, Thursday, 25 September, 2025

What do I need to wear/bring?
On the day of the event, be sure to bring:
- Training gear that is non restrictive.
- Quality footwear for best grip on flooring.
- Lunch and/or food requirements.
- Drink bottle.
- Special medications; including asthma puffer/pump, and EpiPen if required.*

Your verified testing data will be uploaded post event to Rookie Me Hub.
You will receive an email within 5 business days post the combine event, with the steps on how to create and access your account.
